Re: GRP outer sills

What is the price difference? I had to do similar to mine last year and fitted new BMW sills at £120/side with free delivery, which I didn't think were too badly priced. The rear quarter panels were significantly more expensive.

My viscous fan hardly ever comes on. Occasionally hear it after a longer run in summer as I'm putting it away in the garage when there is no airflow through the radiator. I've never heard of them becoming oversensitive. When they fail, they seem to lock up completely. Is your car running warm? Cheer...

The switch is in the boot lock, operated by the conical pin on the body. Often people mistake the plungers either side for the switch, but they just lift the lid when the lock button is pressed in. The cover just pries out and there is a festoon type bulb behind that you can remove. Cheers R. Sent f...

Rad removes from the top. I had problems getting an OEM one, and finished up fitting an aftermarket one a couple of years ago. There can only be a limited number of things it can be. First guess is that the system has a leak and the gas has escaped. If not that then either the compressor has failed or the electrical side that turns it on and off has failed. Might be worth checking fuses for the latter. Cheers R. Sent from m...

Hi Bex. It doesn't sound terminal, just needs a little bit of fiddling to find the fault. MAF issues are known to cause starting problems and the simplest test is to just unplug the MAF. The car will then run on default values and should start and run. Camshaft and crankshaft sensors can cause simil...

E10 petrol contains 10% ethanol (the clue is in the name). It shouldn't cause any problems for fuel injected cars like ours. The main issues are degradation of rubber fuel hose, which I'm pretty sure we don't have, and the formation of ethanoic acid as ethanol is hygroscopic. The latter is an issue ...
