Brake Servo Check Valve

Guys I’m chasing a vacuum leak and starting at the servo. If I decide to replace the check valve and grommet does it go in dry? I’ve seen people put some silicon grease on it so I’m a bit confused.
Thanks

As the title suggests my window has reached the end of its life. I can’t see through it anymore! I was looking at the German supplied ones on eBay but kept getting this item doesn’t fit your model. Is there a preferred manufacturer of copy panels?

My NSF lower wing is shot in the bottom corner and I can’t justify the £350 plus painting for the OEM one.

Thanks.

I was more referring to the copy part panel not being too far off the original but Thank you for your explanation there’s obviously a lot more to it than I realise. Rather a dumb statement of mine anyway “how far off can it be”, obviously very far. Mines Blue Topaz and I’d hate to see a large panel ...

As an update. I used 1000 grit wet sand to get through the clear coat. I did burn through To base metal in a couple of small areas but it’s all smooth. I’ll try with some thin layers of primer tomorrow then let it dry fully before a light sand with some 2000 grit to smooth. Then I’ll go for the colo...

I read about this painting method and it has been working very good for me. First, of cource, a good suitable primer and let it dry totally. It needs to release the chemicals in the paint. The time is irrelevant. Some solvents can release weeks later. The paint in all layers needs to be dry or it can fry. Try putting on thin coats, you should only need a light coat of colour then one more to cover and the metalic stand up. A light coat ...

I would avoid 'Longlife' oils, as they are invariably very thin at the cold end of their viscosity range - such as the popular 0W - 30 SAE type. Yes, the compressors are a tight fit, and will only do the job if fitted in the correct positions, but it is preferable to straining the inner CV joint by using lots of force on a crowbar, which is really butchery! Usually, once you remove the bottom shock bolt, you can drop the trailing arm enough to wriggle/pry the spring out and back in again. Not sure if there is enough room for a couple of spring compressors. I’ll try the pry bar method first and see how hard it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Not much room on the rears as they’re quite there tightly compressed anyway.

I have a broken spring O/S/R and there’s a couple of ways to remove them. Most seem to favour using a pry bar to get the spring out after you’ve dropped the trailing arm. Would spring compressors be better?
