Well after trying the Chipex, which came out rubbish, I had to invest in a Sealey polisher (half price on Amazon) and some G3 compound - only tried one bit of it so far on the chip repairs I did but really please with the outcome. G3 really does what it says it will unlike the Chipex

Just ordered some Chipex - supposed to be a revolutionary stone chip repair kit, they have it on offer for £37 for the big kit, was dubious at first but looking at a lot of vid's on Youtube it really does seem to be a very easy rememdy - when it comes and I have cracked on with it will post a report

Thanks. Z3ddie - how did you stop the silicone blocking the narrow drain holes or the a pillar? Peter2b - where did you put the puncture patch? You mean you can see it still with the roof closed? I pulled the plugs out and spread the silicone at the top of them and then gently squeezed them back in...

Had the same problem and cured it by doing the following I removed the 'bungs' from the top of the A pillar both side - you can get them to come out quite easily with patience, then thoroughly cleaned them and the channels. Depends on the Halfords I suppose - I have a Topaz blue and spoke to the guy in the mixing shop and he said he would mix me a sample to take home to check - as I was only covering a couple of chips it was more than enough - bit cheeky but got a free fix out of it!

Lovely - mine is Topaz blue but I went for a black hardtop as I like the contrast. I sort of don't like putting it on as I love the top down at every opportunity but the drive with hardtop on is great so it's a decent compromise
