Re: Difficulty Engaging First?

Any competent mechanic can change the gearbox oil. Nothing particularly special about the Z3 gearbox. Just make sure you get the correct oil.
Good idea to change the diff oil at the same time.
There's a good chance they've never been changed.

Andy T62 said I used Autodoc uk to supply the calipers.... I assume these were exchange and you had to return the old calipers to get a deposit back. Calipers are heavy. What was the return process like (did they make it easy or did you have to sort it out yourself) and how much did it cost? Thanks...

Headlights must be on.
It only sprays every 4th or 5th time you use the washers, but should work the first time with the headlamps on.
There is just one reservoir.
That's how it is on my 3.0i Z3.
Hope this helps.

Had my roof replaced a few years back by the The Soft Top Shop based in Stockport.

He offers roofs with or without relief pockets.

I can confirm that the lining stays in place. It doesn't need to be removed at all. The new roof just goes on over it.

Thanks Mike. Good to hear that Z3s should be OK. I have read elsewhere that it is likely to result in lower power and higher fuel consumption. If I were at all cynical I might think that is part of the plan. More fuel sold = more tax paid. One thing is for sure - it will not mean cheaper fuel! Don't...

Black silicone is better than glue.

It can hold the fabric in place over the zip, prevent water getting through the zip and if you decide to replace the window after all it pulls away easier.

No, there isn't. It is just a push fit.

If it leaks it's probably because the pipe has opened up with age. A small cable tie will be enough to stop the leak.
