Re: Power steering Pump noise
Thanks for that guys – this noise is quite embarrassing especially as where I work the company policy is to reverse park and this loud noise is especially evident when the car is in left hand down lock. I am quite fortunate that there isn’t a load of engine and bits and the reservoir is sort of easy...

Re: Power steering Pump noise
If the noise is a bit more louder than the normal open relief valve noise – when I say louder, I mean people look as if to say… what is wrong with that car (type of noise)… would it mean that something (more than just the oil) needs changing? Is the pump easy enough to buy/change? And by the way, I ...

Re: z
You dont say if the car is stored for winter or you are using it. If you are using it and as you say its a pipe leaking then you would have been in trouble by now with loss of water in the engine. I suspect its your air con leaking, some bmw`s do this after use and parked up, but it just could be a...

So now that Patty has a way forward - your advise please would be appreciated. Just before Christmas my 1.8 Z3 decided it was time to leave water on the garage floor overnight. I tracked it down to either a pipe joint at the back of the engine or that black plastic thing that I assume is something t...

I'm unsure if I like it or not - the body work must be in good condition for it to be wrapped, or the defects would show through? So if it is in good condition why wrap it? The colour reminds me of the american black stelth looking spy planes. Hmm! Many reasons if I'm being honest. The body work is...

Most common reason on other cars used to be wind blowing in through the air vents, but that probably doesn't effect these cars. Maybe change the air flow to the demister setting and see if that helps. Mine was not the wind blowing through but the radio sensor was always on the edge and 1 slight mov...

Well if you want some peace, then just lock the car with the key instead of locking it remotely and setting the alarm. The wind problem is most likely to be either the interior sensors or the bonnet switch. The bonnet switch can be disconnected, which will hopefully eliminate that, whilst the inter...

If you un-plug the MAF, and if it improves the running, then it could well be the MAF (that reminds me I must fix my MAF) - anyway, if it does improve it, before you buy another MAF, have a go at cleaning it yourself. This arrangement you have here is exactly the same as mine - the holes for the deflector legs being 70cm apart. But, the deflector which came with my car has legs 75CM apart - obviously designed for holes in the top of the turrets rather than lower down between them. Sorry, no, this is not correct....

Passing a Wire through the Bulkhead.. ?
Is there a place/location in the bulkhead that I can pass a wire through between engine bay & cockpit?
Or will I have to drill one myself?
Any tips by anyone?
