Re: How to change glove box lock barrel (pictures)
Hmmm, can't remember I'm afraid. I don't think I replaced the barrel though. Must be able to purchase from dealer though and wouldn't have thought too expensive.

Re: Help! Wipers stopping when stationary
It could be something like that Robert.
My other car is a T4 van and the only problems I've had with it have been chafed wiring for the horn and throttle. I'll see if I can identify the wiring and module when I next have some free time.

Re: Help! Wipers stopping when stationary
Thanks for your replies John, Alec and motco but I have had my Z3 for 7 years and am well aware that the wipers slow down when idling at lights. I maybe wasn't clear enough that the issue was that they stopped completely when idling and did not resume when we moved off. They only restarted when the ...

Help! Wipers stopping when stationary
Hi, I've searched the forum and knowledge base for help with this but haven't found anything. Hoping someone recognises the fault or can point me in the direction of a suitable thread. While driving home last night in the rain we stopped due to motorway roadworks. It was only my boyfriend's second t...

Re: Locking issue; actuators or wiring??
Thanks BladeRunner919 and RobertT for your swift replies :) It now makes sense to me that the problem is mainly the driver's side so at least I can put the passenger door back together. I was going to go ahead and repaint the driver speak grill anyway so I'll investigate the lock on that side instea...

Locking issue; actuators or wiring??
Hi guys and gals, I've taken my passenger door card off to lube the window runners and spray the speaker grill and thought I should try and figure out my locking issues before I put it back together. 1. Using the key in the driver's side locks and unlocks both the driver and passenger side locks. I ...

So far so good stevie_a, although have avoided moving the seat about too much in case that's what caused it. Passed the MOT in any case and enjoying being on the road again. Thanks again for your help.

Re: Airbag reset/diagnostics help required in Glasgow
Thanks Mint and hello Brian H, I don't know what's likely to have caused it to come on. Had some boot loom issues last year so not sure if could have been that. Car has been sorned and due MOT and I only just realised that the light being on is a fail. I obviously can't bring the car to you but am o...

Airbag reset/diagnostics help required in Glasgow
Hey chaps.
Does anybody have a diagnostics kit or airbag reset tool in Glasgow or the central belt? If not I suspect I will end up buying one rather than paying the garage to plug it in but thought I'd ask first.
Cheers,
Belle

Welcome Takumi!! I'm in the West End. See quite a few Z3s around Glasgow but sadly few waves :( Welcome from me Takumi, I am at the north end of Loch Lomond. Hopefully both PCSAM and myself will get a cruise organised soon Will keep an eye out for this. Haven't been to any meets yet and would love t...

Re: Out of the pan and into the fryer
Was able to get in touch with the truck company boss today. Turns out it was a vegetable based oil from the hydraulic arm from a tipper truck and not from the local takeaway. BONUS!! That'll be why it doesn't smell. Not sure what all the wee specks on the bonnet are. He's happy to cover cleaning cos...

Out of the pan and into the fryer
It's been an interesting week for this little lady. The Z spent it's first winter in hibernation and emerged a few weeks ago in anticipation of the summer to come. My Dad treated her to new brake pads all round prior to the MOT she was otherwise running really well. At the MOT on Monday she failed o...

Re: Insurance Providers
If changing your provider I've always found it worthwhile going through a cashback website eg. http://www.topcashback.co.uk as most of the main insurers offer a reasonable deal eg. I'll get £25 back on my Sheila's Wheels policy which is £350 (1.9 1998 28yo 5yrs no claims and doing upto 10000miles in...

How to change glove box lock barrel (pictures)
Been meaning to fix this since last summer when a friend tried to open the glove box while it was locked and the handle came off in her hand. As other have commented it seems impossible to get the two pieces together and in the end it was pretty straightforward to fix with a spare glove box handle (...

Type I wind deflector
As this will be my second summer with my zed I'm keen to refine the experience slightly. I love driving with the roof down but really keen to get a wind deflector.
