I had the same issue on my 3.0 when i bought it, turned out to be a rooted drive shaft. (after i bloody replaced the guybo, diff carrier and tranny and engine mounts.. Got one shipped from the US for 300 bucks, chucked it in, been good as gold since.

Yup, I took of the front plate and mount on my first Z3 I had. Very much cleaner look. Going to do the same to this one I have now when it comes time to repaint the front bumper.

Re: Automatic gearboxes realiability question on all Z3
Have had 4 zed3's, 3 with auto boxes, one with manual. Ill never drive a z3 again with a manual box (unless its an ///M). I have my Z4 for that. Cruising and spirited cruising in the z3 is just perfect with an auto, just perfect and love it a lot. the pick out of the lot is the last one with tip-tro...

Lovely looking motor, i especially like the wheels, suits the car nicely.
When i removed my spare wheel, i chucked it straight into the rubbish dumpster. it lasted about 700 meters on my car when i needed it.

Gday Howard,
As far as I know all the z3m top hats are the same part number, so no dramas which ones you will get. They are different left and right though. Mine is a 2002 3.0, so yeah no issues there.

Thats the only reason id grab and auto all day , every day, if it was a dd. I have a Z4mc for weekend/track duty. Re: Fitting Z3M top mounts to a standard Z3 (2.8)
I just did this to my car, 2002 Z3 3.0 roady. I didn't do it for tramlining, but to be able to fit my front 18 inch (M5) style 32's. The rear was a perfect fit, but the front stuck out about 1.5cm.. I used the z3m top hats as described here in reverse, so brought on quite a bit of neg camber, but th...

Z3 1998 and 1997 steering wheels/size/grip/looks?
Hi, just wondering what steering wheel peeps prefer? Mine has a lot of sun damage on it at the top and I can replace it. Are both wheels the same size as in round? And how is the grip on both?
Cheers
