Aftermarket front wings. Any good?

Going to replace my rotten front wing panels on my 1999 widebody z3 ... finally! Some of the used ones for sale are not looking good so wondering if anyone has gone for the aftermarket ones and who from. Especially as cannot find one in Boston Green metallic. They all look the same but prices vary h...

There was no noticeable performance issue which I agree you would thinks would have been obvious. Having fixed it it does seem more surely though. Happy days ..

What's that noise ! Common part failure

Thought I'd share a recent problem. I have had this really annoying whining type noise for about 18 months. It was coming from the engine bay and only between 1750 and 3000 revs. It only did this under load so never when static.. Thought it might have been a belt or alternator bearing . Then looked ...

Ahhhh .

Ok then if sentimental then don't abuse her ( or him ? ) cherish her to get her looking as good as she can would be my advice and protect her underneath. JR Classics do a fantastic job re undersealing.

Good luck

Re: Strut Brace questions

I agree tyres first . Rest depends on mileage re the rest of suspension. Rear bushes on front wishbones may have some play and are a cheap fix. Try googling Weichers strut bar and bearing in mind how much your car weighs don't worry about aluminium. Steel is cheaper and inherently stronger . Go for ...

Re: supercharger

I own a 2.8 and looked into it just for the hell of it . Cost was more than my car ! Performance about 90 bhp extra. But just not worth it . I could have bought an M for that . If you want to boost your 1.9 my advice is sell it and get the 2.8 or 3.0 . The drive train etc is all sorted and the power...

Interestingly a lot of people seem to be saying that their new tyres are helping too with TL. Yes even Mr Pirelli ... mmm not sure about that one ... may be a placebo effect ..? :|

Re: Tyres - A post to accumulate members' experience

I would have gone for Falken 453s also as I liked the 914s but they don't do 453's for 16" rims. Nearly went for Nokian Z line as their reviews are good also but again 17" and up - so size does matter then ! :) I have got Conti Contact 5s on my other car and despite driving sensibly they d...

Tom-sk. I think he meant National as that is one of the deals they do but depends on the brand and size . Try all those I mentioned to compare ... otherwise its National . Re: Tyres - A post to accumulate members' experience

From what I found the Avons from National were the cheapest best tyre in my tyre size - but you don't state yours, also if you do a big mileage then be careful as some don't last even thought they are v.grippy - In which case I would have gone back to Michelin Primacy HPs - have a look at tyrereview...

Tyres - A post to accumulate members' experience

Dear All. Having recently gone through this process the range of tyres available and posts all over the place is somewhat mind boggling when going for a change. So for all future purchasers for their Z3 I thought I'd start this as tyres suit some cars but not others and rim sizes etc etc. If you tak...

Re: DAB Radio Vs DVD

I agree - Yuk . Try the Alpine CDE range. Had one fitted in mine and looks ( and works) great. You really don't need DAB and if you do I'd advise a pro to fit it . CDE incl fitting about £150 . DVD player in the car - a matter of taste I suppose. Wait till you get home or use Netflix on your mobile ...

Folks Not sure if I can post this but no doubt someone will tell me .... Just had my 1999 Z3 2.8 wide body treated underneath with Waxoyl by JR Classics in Askern , South Yorks . Brilliant job . He takes off the wheel arch liners, side skirts, front quarters and under panels. Cleans off . Sands off ...

Hi folks Like a couple of others before ...... the silly little white clip was broken when I bought the car on my passenger seat switch (masked by sticking the seat switch back with blue tack !)
