Re: Z3 alarm module.
Thanks Robert: yes I use the under-bonnet 30 pin connector. Yes, I've bled ABS and so on but I'm sure I was unable to reset service lights in the past - not that that's a biggee - oil change every year & brake fluid every two - simples. (Thanks Mike btw I used a bit of wire on my old E30 years a...

Re: Z3 alarm module.
Thanks for your generous replies guys...it is a later ('02 2.2) Zed with the ZWA. (If the bonnet switch cures it then all well and good). The frustrating thing is when you go into INPA (at least on my laptop and INPA variant) and select E36 Body options there is an item indicating the E36/7 alarm mo...

Z3 alarm module.
Hey guys - happy days from North Norfolk where there's very little covid - but I expect they'll still shut us down anyway....So to the point....has anyone been able to access the alarm module via INPA (or anything else for that matter)? I was trying to confirm that repeated erroneous alarm firing is...

Thanks Pingu.
Yes, it seemed too good to be true to me....
Here it is if anyone's interested:-

So many people had posted positive replies and as it cost virtually nothing to try it, then hey.

Re: INPA brake bleed?
OK, to bring closure to this thread..... Basically, YIPPEE :bounce: This seriously works....there are a few YouTube vids on this but to be brief...for that is all that is required. So, pressure bled brake lines and used INPA to bleed ABS: brake pedal went to floor - no resistance. Suspected MC had a...

Re: INPA brake bleed?
Very comprehensive sir! Thank you. There speaks the voice of bitter experience/wisdom (?). :rtm: I think I get your theory...but what would I use to plug the ports on the abs pump - a blank hose union...? Before I embark on this and just to clarify, if, admittedly unwisely, I let the four brake line...

Re: INPA brake bleed?
Yes, I used the Gunson's and as far as it goes it has done the job. I suspect the master cylinder is gonna need a bleed - are you familiar with doing that - I'm not entirely sure...
Good idea about your home made bits - maintains a basic 'fluidity' during maintenance until a flush/bleed.

Re: INPA brake bleed?
Thanks Pingu.... I had a go with the abs bleed...it just verified that the system was all good....each caliper issued a small output when "activating' RF/RR & LF/LR. Trouble is I have literally no pedal resistance even after pressure bleeding or abs bleeding. Have issued 2l of clean dot4 th...

Re: INPA brake bleed?
Thank you for that my friend....
Would you expect that if the fluid chamber drained down, that the abs pump would need to bled?
It'd be interesting to try it out anyway...

Re: Z3 and Z3M Fuel Tank Straps
Hi Mazza, Just to qualify to anyone on here who hasn't come across your work, I'd like to thank you on this forum for your research and generosity. I would suggest that a great many 20 year old Zs are likely to need replacement tank straps sooner or later and this is a very practical alternative to ...

INPA brake bleed?
Hello guys, Are there any INPA experts out there who might know whether you can brake bleed with a pressure bleeder and INPA? Have replaced brake flexible hoses and reconditioned/painted calipers over last couple of weeks on my Z3 (with ABS & ASC/DSC). Truth be told, bleeding is the job I fear m...

Re: Zola's developed a nasty runny nose :-(
Thanks Bri Yeh, I suspected that it might be prudent to replace the tank - I understand the seam can go as well and as you've indicated with (Eurocarparts etc) I'm not forced down the OEM route ! (£76.79 down to £52.74 down to £39.54! seems to good to be true  nearly as good as DFS! Tha...

Zola's developed a nasty runny nose :-(
Saturday at last ...... perfect sunny, still, crisp and cold day. Roads (even in Norfolk  ) bone dry - what else would you do? :bounce: But wait - a half hour in and squinting thru the sun - the temp gauge is over half way - oh what!? :shake: Yes wet stuff is running from what would appear to ...

Re: Hamilton external car cover
Just to qualify about the Stormforce cover. After initially being a little bit sniffy .... actually it does work.... Recent wet whether/heavy dews leaves a little moisture/condensate on the window on a weekly inspection - but that's all. The silicone based inner layer definitely caresses the body wh...

Re: Hamilton external car cover
Pete, Without wishing to sound a cynic I think a lot of these covers (4 ply 'breathable'), although pretty sound, are made in the same Chinese factory and badged over here at varying prices with appropriate presentations. I invested £130-odd quid in one (the Stormforce) which was dedicated to the Z3...

Old Chestnut : Air bag light!
This is doing my head in :head: Airbag light has started to come on when her ladyship plants her sweet botty on the passenger seat - but only then ! (Is the car getting overexcited at the view! I appreciate from other posts it may be wiring under passenger seat that's slightly dodgy, but how d...

Re: Showroom shine.
Agreed (recently got a gallon tank from S/Shine's website for £30). I always poo-pooed this stuff until I really used it properly. I don't spray it on (too messy on breezy English days  - just pour on to cloth, gently rub round a panel and buff off (with a clean cloth for each panel). When I fi...

Newbie: Norfolk (& good - geddit?)
Well hello ... had 2.2 MSport for 2 months now & have been browsing here for a while at you lovely, helpful people - seems a good vibe. She's a sienna red (I've named her Zola after our late cat who got run over :bawl: ). Three previous lady owners (oops have I bought a girls' car!) Pretty sure ...
