Re: OEM Luggage Rack Fitting guidelines.
Thanks for the input guys... Yes, apparently there are slight raised areas between the outer and inner skin of the boot lid that act as a guide for drilling. Steve and Adrian have also said the rack originally came with an "arrester cable/cord to prevent the raised part of the rack from coming ...

Can anybody provide me with a scan of the boot rack fixing instructions. I'm familiar with how they attach to the boot lids, and confident which direction the lip is supposed to face.. it's just about positioning it and spacing it correctly. It's quite a commitment to drill into your boot so I'm hop...

Re: Z3 Chrome pack
My question is.. can you buy the chrome around the windscreen as an aftermarket piece? If so, where & how much are they? showing online as available at https://www.online-parts.co.uk/bmw-spare-parts/51168398507_Cover-Windscreen-Panel-Top.html 51168398505 £47 left 51168398506 £47 right 511683985...

Re: Z3 Chrome pack
Thanks for that, it would seem its a tricky job that needs to be done right to avoid moisture traps...cant say reading that I'm filled with confidence. Probably cost arm and a leg to get it fitted with BMW too.Mr Silver wrote:Search for 'Chrome Windscreen Frame'.

Re: Z3 Chrome pack
Can't decide whether the chrome screen surround looks good, or is too blingy. My car had the chrome pack fitted from new. I think it looks good, as it includes the chromed front kidney grills, the windscreen surround, the door handles, the mesh behind the side grills (not the side grills themselves...

Re: Z3 Chrome pack
Anybody retrofitted the chrome windscreen surround? Can't seem to get a definitive guide on how they attach and best way to approach. I know they are self adhesive.. They come with some rivets and clips of some sort also? I think they look nice on any colour z although I saw one on a mates black Z a...

Wind deflector to fit AC Schnitzer hoops.
Hi,
I've been given the nod from the other side that a member here is making a perspex wind deflector that will be a custom fit for the ACS chrome roll hoops.
Could anybody point me in the right direction please?
Many thanks

Lovely car JT Good to see it unleashed again. Mine needs a drive, it's been tucked up since September. Nothing wrong with not using it if it's serviced properly and on trickle charge. Mark They are still a great car to have for fun. Using it yesturday left a nice feeling that I own it which given s...

Re: Still no power...3.0
I use INPA on a laptop but it's not straightforward. My brother has a Creator C110 which cost about £40. It does the job very nicely and will reset SRS errors too. He uses that on his 1 Series and I borrow it for the Z3s sometimes too as it's so quick and easy. The port under the dash will give eng...

Re: 3.0 Lagging at low revs.? :(
Quick update on the Lagging issue... Drove to the garage, curiously the car didn't skip a beat, the diagnostic read a fault on the inlet cam sensor... And a fault on the exhaust sensor? Mechanic thought it sas a little odd these faults were reading simultaneously... Not sure why. Will start with a n...

Re: 3.0 Lagging at low revs.? :(
If the diagnostic says it's a cam sensor then there is no doubt - it is the cam sensor. Cam sensor ECU errors aren't usually caused as a secondary result of something else being faulty. Cheers Del... The fault had cleared itself and the lagging eased... But it's back and I've stalled at the lights ...

Re: 3.0 Lagging at low revs.? :(
Thanks for all your input guys.... Tim do you also have a 3. 0? Was it an intermittent problem? I think I'll run a diagnostic myself and if it flags the same fault just replace the inlet sensor... I don't think they are a crazy price?
Anyone recommend a decent simple to use diagnostic tool?

3.0 Lagging at low revs.? :(
Hello all... I'm hoping this is the correct forum for this question. I have a 2000 3.0 roadster and it's not running so well... There is about a half second lag after first touching the accelerator pedal. This has been problematic when pulling away unless I give it alot more gas :? ... The revs actu...

I've not long had a respray and I've been browsing solutions for some chip protection. These so called "bras" :shake: ... Has anybody actually seen one fitted to a zed? I'm sure the manufacturers (colgan) do a good job of making them look less ridiculous in the photos but would like to kno...
