My cars been off the road a little bit, it had a fault after I went over a pot hole! whilst trying to find it i changed quite a few bits. idle valve, (it didnt move) crankshaft sensor (its old) exhaust camshaft sensor (it was old ) inlet camshaft sensor (tried 3 now) camshaft cover seal, definately ...

means the gearbox output flange turns 3.14 revs for each wheel rev.
not engine.
4th gear is usually 1:1 and then geared down a further 3.14 at the wheels.

been a while.. but the weather has been good, so got to change the rear shocks...
its light and day.. its like new... full throttle changes with steering angle now result in no brown pants.

hate to dissagree, but i do lol.
its only doing 3000rpm ish? at 70ish mph isnt it?
so its just responsive at speed... which is nice

ive just done the water pump, belts, thermostat (cos it broke when doing the other bits) and header tank and cap too... and the orings in the pipes! it all works fine... took a while tho.. but i am a tight arse and like to do things cheaply.. and it was winter so wasnt using this car much. was all p...

having just inspected the orings.. they arent oring any more.. not wonder they fail. 3.63 in one direction, and 2.5 in the other.. it probably started life as a 3.5mm oring. so after finding the hoses were £40 each im going to replace all the orings for about a pound! ill do water pump too i think w...

grrr... the rad drain plug broke off whilst i was undoing it.. i literally just touched it... so it was bound to fail soon!
so had to take the rad out to get to it... but wow, comes out dead easy!
the big rad hoses look fine, but im going to see how much they are and replace them

My Z3 has a little water leak, it comes from the connector on the bottom of the header tank. in my experience its the nitrile oring inside this connector that fails over time. does anyone know how big it is so i can get one and fit it in the same day? or... where i can get the pipe at a reasonable c...

Not sure if this is a normal 3.0L model thing, or if something isnt quite right! when pulling off, you apply power of course, and pull clutch up and go! but, mines always been a bit jumpy so thought it was the clutch, or slave cyl. but noticed that if i put foot on pedal in Neutral, rise revs to say...

Mine are really crappy looking too. So I wire brushed them and got the old paint off. Underneath they were fine and just need a paint. It's 2mm steel will take ages to rot away.

changed the oil and filter today, bought off eurocarparts, asked for castrol, and got the more expensive magnatec stop start instead.. which is nice. painted some more of the wishbones and surrounding area with POR30. coming up nicely now! and got off a stubborn bolt so i can change the other side r...

either im being stupid, or the clock button is broken?
how do you set it? neither button seems to do anything with the clock... one of them resets the computer, that works.

since im looking for the same thing to, i noticed the anti roll bars are stiffer on the sport too.

Changed mine today to stop it leaking. The aly washer had gone bad and leaked.
Put fuchs 75/140 in it.
What a difference, put more in than came out due to leak... And now very very little clunk when changing gears
I guess when I do gearbox oil it will dissappear all together

rear anti roll bar links and bushes fitted today...
well apart from on side where the nut its now a round nut so it will have to wait a little bit!
what a horrible awkward hard work job!.... would have been easy if it was a new car i would imagine!

you dont need holes or slots... there is then less metal to pad ratio... so its not worth it
you get more gains from pads... i put pagid ones in the front and they work fine... make sure the pads can move in the caliper! and the caliper can move (unlike mine were and only using one of the two pads!

i have purchased for the big sum of £8 each, drop links, and £6 each roll bar bushes.
hope to fit them this weekend!... but the F1 is on.. so it might have to wait lol.
its nice to hear that it should handle like a proper car like you'd expect.

being an engineer.... the people actually fitting the clutches arent... so talk ummm rubbish, or old wives tales! new things do make things better, but id bet the clutch was ok... the mechanism probably needed a little love LUK is a good company, make a lot of things... as good if not better than OE...

There's no reason it should jump like it does.... It's not my driving lol. I am an engineer and been racing for years. Like someone said accidents happen on the way in. Joys of rwd.

had a look today, all i can see is the little drop links to the anti roll bar are a little cracked, ill get a couple more, they are only £8 ish.

so you can basically change gear on full throttle and not have any bad feeling?
