Re: New member

Hi Moaty. Welcome to the forum. You're ahead of me. I'm an intellectually ailing oldie who hasn't found out how to post pics yet. Any advice ? (I've got as far as getting the pics into my computer ...) Explains the 1952 MGTD2 pic taken 1973 being used as my avatar which I could swap now I suppose. I...

Re: central locking not working

Bit odd, but the door actuator secondhand replacement we tried was also faulty. New actuator solved the problem. All is well. Lesson to learn there somewhere.

Re: central locking not working

Thanks for the interest and response. The entire workings inside the driver's door from the electrical connections outwards were replaced temporarily by stripping everything from another Z3 known to be working. Mine all worked fine on the other car and the other car's didn't make any difference to m...

Re: central locking not working

Is it true as a generalisation that problems in the central locking system are going to be due to the boot loom wear ? My driver's door works on the key and locks the two others (boot and passenger door) but I have to press the key fob to engage the alarm. If I press the key fob, the boot and passen...

Re: New member

Hi Moaty, Welcome. I'm fairly new too but beginning to find my way around. Have you got a picture you can post yet ? I haven't found a way to post them on this forum, not being that competent with the online gadgetry required. Andrew.

Hi. I have one of the flaps covering the radio fixings missing. Tiny piece of plastic. Irritating that the garage lost it ? Any chance ?

Fitting hard top

Maybe a daft question ? I have recently bought a Z3 without a hard top. I have bought separately the fitting kit, including electrics for the rear window, which are being fitted on Thursday down south, and I aim to collect the Hard Top on Friday from a separate place up north. Does the fitting kit s...

Re: Drivers seat fixed

After having had that centimetre of slip since I bought the car six weeks ago, I replaced the bushes on my electric seats last week - passenger seat first and the following morning the driver's seat. between an hour and a half and two hours each seat. Many thanks to those involved in posting the hel...

Re: Z3 with unusual exhaust sound

I have just bought a exhaust from Only Exhausts (made in Poland) with some trepidation for my 5 week old 1998 Z3, but am delighted with both the fit and especially the sound, which is much deeper and throatier than it was before, despite the small hole that existed before it was replaced. It was fro...
