I had the same problem , which in my case was caused by a loose gas cap leaking air into the fuel tank and venting system . Cured by a smear of silicone grease on a the gas cap gasket and fully tightened gas cap .

I'm used to older cars where it's literally a 5 minute job tp change a light bulb Removing a load of fragile looking plastic on one side and a 5 litre plastic jug of washer fluid on the other , just to get at the back of the head lights ,and even more to access the fog lights and little twinky light...

The Knowledge Base article on upgraded bulbs is rather old . Does any one have recommendations for more recent upgrades??

Been there and done that :
Yesterday I did the key 1 reboot and take key 1 out quickly, before rebooting key 2 . This gave any 1 from 2 keys locking remotely ,and a choice of which key will lock remotely
Today key 2 works , but key 1 refuses to reboot !

Lary I have a 2001 Z3 3.0i which has only one huge fan , the first thing you see when you open the hood . The only obvious thing like a power feeder to the fan is a 3 wire connector on the right hand side of the radiator . I am unable to separate the connector to see if there is current to the fan ....

I missed this in my troll through the Knowledge Base . I was looking for a reference to A/C or Climate Control systems;

Thanks guys for your advice. I will investigate local A/C shops . I had forgotten the purge and dry step before refilling the system . I hope the compressor seals have not dried out .

My post said very clearly that you lowered the car onto jack stands ,after raising it by jacking under the differential .; before working under the car.
