Left hand drive can be legally registered in my State (Queensland) subject to the age of the vehicle - I'm sure this also applies in other parts of Australia.

Mine used to do the same - sprinkled some hot chilli powder on the roof one night and the cat never got up there again (undoubtedly not a taste it appreciated when washing itself after the event!) - hosed off the chilli powder next morning and no sign of any stain.

I sympathise - earlier in my Z3's life the rear window was slashed and replaced twice and the roof once - unfortunately there are lowlifes out there that can't help defacing the property of others, most probably driven by jealousy.

My first Z3 (98 1.9) roof was unlined but my 99 2.8 is lined - same roof so you should be able to buy the liner - either from a dealer or maybe fabricated by an auto trimmer?

Most normal people would not really need an adjustable wheel in a Zed, making me wonder if your car was originally destined for the Japanese market, where they too drive on the left, but are generally a good bit shorter than Brits - particularly those who were raised on regular outings to Mcdonalds...

Don't know about the U.K., but in Australia it's law that servicing does not have to be undertaken by a dealer, and if undertaken by a third party it won't affect the warranty - unless of course the work done is a warranty claim that must be done by a dealer.

My first set of rears lasted around 50,000 km - after that I've had them "rotated" every 20-25,000 km (remove tyre each side from rim and swap to opposite side rim) - second set lasted 70,000 km, and now on third set at 140,000 km with less than 50% wear - rotating has worked for me.

Why don't you all move to Australia? In addition to all of the other benefits of a life down under, full comprehensive insurance on my 2.8 is around AU$500.00 (roughly 200 Pounds). I could reduce that by half if I declared it for what it is as a second car and limited travel to 15,000 km per year.

Looks like mine - Sienna Red. Mine has beige interior and I had the interior aluminium trim replaced with woodgrain pre-delivery. My dealer tells me there are only two like it in Australia (in 2.8) - I think it looks great and I love it!

I have the BMW mesh blocker on my Z3 but opted for Roadstersolutions clear alternative on my Z4. Took about 10 minutes to fit all three sections, looks good, and haven't experienced any problems at speed.

Another one in agreement. I don't particularly like the "inconvenience" of storing the cover, but it looks good when in place, protects the roof as it's designed to do, and is simple and quick to install/remove - I also only use the two outside fixings and have never had a problem with that.
