Just tried the E45 trick on my seats, applied it yesterday, let it soak overnight and buffed it off this morning with a micro fibre cloth .... I'm amazed at how well the leather has come up, certainly better than the leather balm I've been using up to now !

If you are prepared to drive to Croydon then I really recommend the guy at soft tops. £350 fully fitted in either blue or black although it comes with a stitched in window. Have you checked the fuel filler cap...if as you say it only happens when you pull away sharply, it may be the filler cap isn't sealing as it should, and air is being expelled and sucked in with the movement of fuel in the tank and up the filler spout...? Excellent thread this. I've always fancied building a kit car but could never justify the expense and time to do it, but now it looks as though when my zed gets a bit long in the tooth I could spend a bit of money using it as the basis of a kit car without having to find a donor vehicle!

I bought some aftermarket ones off of ebay, total rubbish the plastic base didn't fit properly so had to transfer the central painted metal badge section to the old bases. Hi Paul, not exactly in your area (I'm in Basingstoke) but I've just bought a Autel code reader which you're welcome to try.
I got the check light as well so bought it diagnose the problem, but the light went out before I used it so it's still unopened in it's packaging!

Just installed the new switch and all is now OK, although there are a few points worth noting if somebody else is about to embark on this fix: 1. OK, looks like it's the brake switch. What did you use for ground to measure the voltage? The only two things common to all three brake lights seem to be the brake pedal switch and the ground. If operating the pedal gives a voltage (though 10V seems low), then that indicates to me that the switch is working. The ground is likely to be ...

I gave them from RealOEM and BMWfans (13541705209) should be correct (checked with my VIN), but is different to the code from the actual part (13541435625). I locked my car keys in my old Volvo 480 once, the RAC man showed how to release the tailgate by removing the rear side reflector and accessing the internal workings. Amazed at how quick and easy it was, the knowledge came in handy when I went and did it again

Just be careful if you have the screen polished thats in your line of sight as any vigorous polishing effectively removes some of the surface glass which can change the glass optics. I did this on my old Toyota MR2 as the screen was scratched and it left the glass very slightly wavy but notceable. ...
