Brecon Classic Car Show Sunday 6th August 2017
Handsomejack and myself turned out for the Brecon show today, a couple of showers but didn't spoil the day. Quite a variety of cars turned out pre and post war. We met another couple from Mid Wales with a 2.0l Z3 in a nice grey colour who are not members of this or other forums, details supplied so ...

Disconnecting the MAF will result in the car going to default running settings. The effect this would have would be dependent on how the rest of the sensors and engine are performing. The MAF measures the amount of air passing through it and reports to the ecu. The measurement it reports helps the e...

Re: Help with some fault codes
If you are certain you have no air leaks in the rubber components after the Maf, it might be an idea to monitor the lambda sensor with the engine running to see what it is doing. A healthy sensor should be seen to have a rising and falling voltage at idle. A bad Maf will have an effect on what the e...

Be interested in what your mycarly scan app can actually do, it looks suspiciously like a ELM 327 Wifi interface that can be used with scanner apps on phone or ipad. Yes it would work in conjunction with a laptop, be warned the software takes up a lot of space on the hard drive. You would also need a BMW round diagnostic plug to 16pin OBD2 plug to read the engine modules. If you have a 16pin OBD2 socket under your steering wheel as well as the round pacman diagn...

Sounds like a wheel speed sensor at fault, whip the wheels off and check their wiring. A scan with INPA would identify which one is at fault as far as I know, your code reader is just giving generic codes. Have a search on here for wheel sensors they crop up quite often.

Dels quite right the belt shouldn't just jump off, suspect the tensioner or one of the the deflection pulley bearings with wear in its bearings.

You don't need a power supply to run diagnostic code readers, they get their power from the diagnostic sockets they are plugged into.
If you use a laptop with software diagnostics on it then the laptop mains cable can be plugged in to power the laptop if needed or just rely on the laptop battery.
