Looking for Z3MC
Been a while since I was last on here as I moved over to a Z4 roadster about 13 months ago. Am considering getting rid of the 4 and moving back to a 3 but in M coupe form. Am also looking at Z4MC's. Anybody here interested in a swap? With cash of course, depending on the condition etc. My Zed is up ...

Depends how busy they get but mine was next day. Once the new one is on you have to leave it up for a few days to help it find its 'stretch' points, then you're good to go. Was better than the original IMO. Smelt like polished shoes too which I guess was the waterproofing treatment. Best bit was hav...

Try these guys in Croydon. http://www.soft-tops.co.uk/ When my old Z3 got broken into last summer I rang loads of places around SE London. These guys came out cheapest and friendliest. You leave the car with them, they take it off, create a new roof using the old as a pattern, then it all goes back ...

BMW software update?
Hi all. Been a while since I last posted here. After my 2.8 Z3, then a few months with a 330i, I'm now running a 2005 3.0 Z4. Have a question re: software updates and options you can have switched on. Does anyone know of a good indy that can do this in the south east London area? I have a MF steerin...

No probs. It was a shame as the spec was pretty spot on. It was up for £5.5k and had done around 75k miles. As I say, the bodywork was gorgeous, its just the rest that disappointed. Also, when you see a cheap set of no-name tyres on a roadster then alarm bells should start ringing! Looking at anothe...

Thanks for the encouraging words. It was a real shame as today I thought I'd nailed it. The engine just lacked oomph and felt like it had been harshly treated. No throttle response, bit rattly etc. Plus the facelift layout definitely appeals more, and I think I prefer the rear end too. Basically I'm...

...unfortunately it didn't drive as well as it looked and the service history was, lets say, sporadic. Outside she was a beauty but on test driving her the brakes needed work and the throttle seemed pretty non responsive. A good buy for somebody who wants to spend time speccing up but one I had to w...

I found one! Z3 2.8 Orinoco edition
It was worth the wait, but I've finally managed to both sell my 330i (yesterday) and find a lovely looking 2.8. Picking her up mid morning and all being well post check over/test drive, I'll be motoring back through South London with beautiful 1999 Orinoco edition. I'll post pics once I've sor...

Swap 330i M Sport for facelift Z3 2.8/3.0?
Well the weekend searching the countryside garnered no luck for me. There was a rather nice 2.8 in the Romford area at a motor dealers but alas it had been sold just mere hours before I turned up. I even test drove a 3.0 Z4 in an effort to get some roadster action but it just didn't feel the same. S...

Still looking for a 2.8/3.0 swap
Update on my search. Have just reduced the price of my 330i to try and sell on both PH and AutoTrader. Book price is £5600 for the condition, but have cut it by £300 to try and stir up interest as to date I've had two guys contact me about swapping for older 3 series diesels?! I don't want a diesel ...

I guess its a danger of cars looking great on electronic paper but perhaps not so great in the metallic flesh. My search continues for 2.8 loveliness. Looking for a Zed (swap or buy)
Hi all, I foolishly let my last sterling grey 2.8 Zed go last October after being broken into and not wanting the hassle of worrying about her being parked out on the street every night. Well, I have since realised that was a lapse in my usually impeccable decision making and have decided to look fo...

For Sale: Z3 2.8 Steel Grey (2000)
It is with great regret that I have to sell my beloved 2.8. Jobless in a month or so and she has to go. Hoping to get a quick sale and if anyone is interested I'll probably be at Santa Pod next week for the BMW fest. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1242047.htm When Im sorted work wise again though,...

Okay, no pics yet but picked her up and the roof looks great. No zippy out window. It's stitched in but when I asked Soft Tops they said its an easy enough job to replace if I ever needed to. They basically make the replacement tops there and fit them patterned to your old roof template. She looks g...

Broken into
Arrived home from work tonight to find my pride and joy had been broken into via the back plastic window. Nothing taken as nothing in the car, but I have a totally destroyed rear window now, as well as ripped outer piping on one side where the little f*cker tried to climb in to find money for pies (...

Help Needed: Best place for Zed parts?
After a jaunt back to Suffolk this weekend, and an examination later it turns out I need to get a set of new rear disks and pads. Also need some bumper parts (the small grommet things holding the rear bumber to the bodywork) after my low speed accident last week in Dorset. So, two questions - where ...

Please read the instructions before posting in the Knowledgebase - it's for answers, not questions! Moved to correct forum - MF Can anyone advise me on my Zeds rear bumper? Thanks Robert, thats really good info. First off I'm glad to hear my girl is at least secure. Next up I'll investigate the sensors you spoke of.
