Re: rad expansion hose - leaky !!!

I went to BMW. It was really quite inexpensive. But if you go to a radiator repair shop, I'm sure the guys there will supply a decent quality equal to BMW.
BMW supplied screw clamps, so go figure!!

Propshaft replacement

Has anyone replaced the propshaft with a new one?? I've looked in the knowledge-base, and can't find any info from the past there. My rear universal seems to be in the process of siezing up. I've ordered a new complete replacement from BMW and was wondering if someone else has been through the proce...

Re: rad expansion hose - leaky !!!

If the hose is de-laminating....get a new hose.......and use screw clamps... I've recently replaced mine. Once the hose ages to that extent, best get shot of it.

Re: Roof motor not working

While you're looking at the motor in the boot. Make sure it has fluid in it, and that the level of fluid is correct. The fuse, and the main switch to raise and lower is next, and finally the Micro-switch fitted to the soft-top on the passenger side. That is where most often the hassle comes from. I'...

Re: Z3 with odd roof problem - closes but won't open

Sounds as if you have a switch problem. Before you go off and buy a new one, they can be opened for examination. You will need a thin bladed, but strong knife. Have a look on the long sides of the switch once you've removed it, and you will see that there are locking tabs. You need to gently prise t...

Re: Rear wheels problem

I bow to your possible better knowledge regarding the non-adjustable design.....However, it seems the kit required for correcting this does not require welding etc...check out my above post re; eBay.... If the suspension has been lowered, then you correctly say it will increase the negative camber.....

Re: Rear wheels problem

Just a thought.....I have nebver had your problem, and frankly it sounds as if iether your car has been dinged in the past, or it's a suspension issue. You could look at a website which caters for the BMW E30. They have a kit for the E30 which allows radical adjustment to the toe and camber. It's re...

Re: Removing paint from plastic...

The plastic I was removing the paint from was on the fuel rail cover. I wanted to re-paint the silver on the raised stripes of the cover, and after doing it, the "silver" turned a boring grey. It had dried for 24 hours, so probably still quite fresh. But it came away within 10 seconds, and...

Removing paint from plastic...

A few days back I had the plastic covers off the engine, and while they were off I thought to re-paint them as the silver stripes were looking tacky. I had a can of Hammerite smooth silver and a can of "satin black" spray paint. I figured to paint the entire covers black and then using a s...

This is not a "stick on thing"....... These guys use a printed "transfer" which is soaked in water, and then applied to the base object. It is then dried, and coated with 5 caots of clear Auto-laquer and baked. The end result is a hard finish which is comparable to the painted su...
