I've got continentals all round on the standard 16" wheel...they make the car twitchier than the president of the nervous tic society on his wedding day....

Will wheels from a Z3M fit a pre-facelift 2.8?? If so any one got any with tyres...not continentals!!!!

Hi Deb before you go to the expense of this try disconnecting the Y bracket and seeing how much water come out of the pipe before going into the Y....used to have an E30with similar set-up...the bracket was the mos common blockage point! only pence to replace if its this!!

Ummm...I used shoe-dye (think it was suede to be specific) and then after that had dried used tent waterproofer to...funnily enough...waterproof the hood....took a couple of hours and £10!!!

Mike...just out of interest...what coolant do you recommend??? VW's G12+ (think that's their own brand name) is supposedly extremely long-life...I believe they claim it never needs changing (though whether I believe their claims is another thing entirely)...is this suitable for the BMW engine??? What was up with it Ben?? Stolen/recovered ,engine dying or they just didn't have a scooby?? My guess is there's gotta be something amiss...it's a good 2k cheaper than the next Z3M...they'll be looking to make a profit so wil have picked it up in the mid-5's....you just don't get an M for that money...

Rear bumper clips???

Some b/stard shunted the back of my car in a car park and then drove off..there is a scrape on the rear bumper which'll be easy enough to sort...but it looks like a clip has broken and the bumper has dropped at the f/s wheel arch...Is it just a replacement clip I am needing to get this back in place...

Did take the lazy option of using my local indy (they only charged a 1/2 hour) but am so so impressed at the change in stability/steering etc. car now feels as if it is anchored to the road ...

Hey Ben...beautiful looking car...probably teaching a granny to suck eggs...but most important thing you can do with the E30 325i engine is change the coolant...had E30's for a few years...the head is liable to crack/become porous if this is not done on a regular basis!!!

Bumper adjustment....

How do you adjust the front bumper on a 2.8 backwards and forwards...had a small shunt and bumper is slightly out of alignment where it meets the bonnet at each corner...nothing else appears bent/broken so hopefully just needs adjusting on brackets???

If you are using the halfrauds touch up kit (not a bad colour match) use the syringe end rather than the brush...much more controllable!!

There are various companys where you acn store your car in dehumidified garages for ultimate safety about £80-100pcm....otherwise make sure car is dry when you put it into storage ,handbrake off,cotton cover sheet ,tyres over-inflated or even better wheels off and axle stands to prevent flat spots ....

The wrx is the standard version... they recently uprated from 2.0 to 2.5 the STi is the balls out version (once you get past the turbo-lag...used to have one) costs 3-4k more I think...inbetweeny is a wrx with a prodrive pack

Thermostat stuck shut would lead to the car overheating on it's own as there won't be any coolant going thru the rad....is it definite that the head gasket has gone...have they pressure tested it? or are they speculating...I would go for the t/stat 1st and then if that doesn't solve things go for th...

Its not so much the fade...each interior is cut from a single batch of leather...different batches slightly different shades!! Probably wouldn't bother most folk but I'm a bit anal about these things :)

Order of likelihood 1. airlock...bleed with heater on 2. The M20 is bullet proof if maintained properly....v sensitive to regular coolant changes...if not done then the head will become porous or crack...the fact the head has been changed tends to indicate not a regularly serviced car?? Everything else IMHO is largely indicative of a car that has been sat...

Olde Worlde luxury...and arguably the best view in the world (literally across the road from the Pyramids).

Suprisingly affordable if you book early enough and drinks/food etc. are as cheap as when you get there. :)

Just had my MOT done...was partially expecting a fail due to either the aim or having just cut off the bumper sidelights for the angels but all was OK....did fail on the No. plate bulbs though....felt a bit of a doofus for not checking but alls well etc.
