I suspect not. If you look up the ebay number I quoted before, the seller there says it will not fit models with ASC and shows photos of cars with and without ASC. As this is the person I bought mine from last year, his photos will probably answer your question.

If yours is the same as one from a 1999 2.0 (part no 21521159714), then Earls should already have a pattern as I sent them my old one 2-3 months ago when I had the same problem with their replacement (the 2.0 does not have the valve in the hose).

Glad to hear that the pump is OK as that's the expensive part. While you are at it, don't forget to replace the vacuum line to the air valve if it feels a bit brittle and black stuff comes off on your hands when you touch it. It comes by the metre from BMW.

Thanks for the suggestion but still no joy! I left the switch closed for 30 minutes this morning and the alarm still didn't go off when I untaped it. There is something strange going on somewhere but at least the cockpit has an alarm working.

I fitted Mintex discs & pads all round as soon as I got the car last February - got them from a dealer on ebay for about £100 all in. They fitted perfectly and work well. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The "tinkling" rattle from the back might just be a slack handbrake cable. Drive along and when you hear it, pull the handbrake lever up very gently-just enough to take up the slack on the cable. If the rattle disappears you have found the cause.
