Re: Tyreweld v Mobility kit
Quite Felix. The only good thing about humped "run flat" rims is that they can be fitted with conventional tyres. I will probably never buy another new BMW if they insist on only supplying with run flat tyres. They are an abomination, and the result is that BMW now produce imho, probably t...

Re: Tyreweld v Mobility kit
Hi Green Genie Interesting question! Years ago when I first travelled abroad with my Z1 and needed space I bought 2 cans of the product sold by BMW and used by many of the German owners. Never used them and they passed their expiry date! Then bought a proper M car kit (as supplied with M3s and other...

Many thanks Jet and Ivor. Have bought the switch unit that Ivor spotted and hopefully that will fix the problem at very modest cost.

Hi I have not used my car at night for some time (!) but from memory the window lifter switches on the central console were illuminated. Neither of mine have illumination now and I assume that if the switches have bulbs they are minature and not replaceable. Would appreciate confirmation of my units...

Sounds average to me. My recent renewal with Carol Nash was £220. Garaged, 1,500 miles per annum, £250 excess, Foreign Travel, Legal Expenses, Hertfordshire.

No! I bought a Halfords battery some years ago and it was too tall to fit correctly. I know for certain that there is a Bosch battery that fits and they can be bought from Costco at a very keen price. You need to be a member to buy from Costco. Although some BMW Z1 parts prices seem to be getting si...

I seem to be in line with Jet. Paying £190 for an annual limit of 1,400 miles. Expecting a big jump this year! Looking back over the years the cheapest it has ever been was in 2008 when it was £180. Worst 1999 £510. It really does need to be looked at regularly, and loyalty counts for nothing. It ha...

I really can't believe they are any better than the BMW part. I would suggest that it must be almost impossible to get a definitive opinion as to whether the parts are any better than original. If you replace your belt at the prescribed mileage, or say every 5 years, how can one determine value. If ...

GG If that doesn't work it is simply a matter if adjusting the track rod ends. As long as you turn the left and right arms an equal number of turns or fractions of a turn the tracking will not alter. It may be a bit of a fiddle and you may need a couple of tries but it will give you finer adjustment...

Roads near the coast are not inspiring and the cost would deter many. My personal view is that one would need a week minimum for mainland Europe from here. Count ...
