If you mean the release hole. You can get the proper tool off eBay for about £7. I’ve done it with a vent paper clip before. But it’s fiddly. I haven’t tried the tool yet but I bought it to simplify the job. But the key is meant to be turned to posn 1 or 2 to align the release pin. That may be your ...

I wouldn’t worry about getting the proper tool. I assume mine is OEM but it’s only a red T hex tool. I don’t even think it’s branded BMW.
The screws are the special item because of their rubber retaining band. They are £15 ea I think!

That issue may well be the cause. But it needs dealing with anyway.
If you aren’t happy selecting the correct type of cable and soldering a new section in then just call a reliable auto electrician. It’s probably what the BMW dealer will do if you take it there.

I’ll test my brother’s C110 again as I always use INPA or BMW Scanner these days.
But I am 99% sure he specifically bought it in the early days before I had INPA to pick up an ABS fault on his pre-facelift 1.9.

I just saw your other post. The P0600 seems to go hand in hand with the P1747. It means a module is failing to provide monitoring data to the DME. Which most likely suggests a faulty module or wiring between. It’s possible your garage has only looked at engine codes. If you can check for other codes...

I was just reading up on that error. It basically means an electrical control signal has gone missing and the car has got confused. What other manifestations do you have? Dash lights on? Had this problem recently. The wiring was stuffed (unrelated area physically but the passenger actuator is down stream from a lot of body control module decisions). 18” wheels split opinion. To the best of my knowledge no Z3 (not sure on Ms) left the factory with 18” wheels. Some people say they get on fine with them. Others take them back off. Re: How nickable are Z3's?
Any lock, even on a new car can be breached in 60 seconds. It’s probably more like 10-15 seconds on a Z3. And the boot is particularly vulnerable without even touching the lock. Keys are easy to copy from photos so never show anyone your key publically. So it’s laughably easy to get inside a Z3. And...

You quite possibly mean DSC - Dynamic Stability Control. Have a look on the passenger side of the engine bay.
