The only time I used my code reader (for the ever-so-popular airbag light), I remember needing a few attempts at resetting the faults with the machine before it did. They were applying heat on the rods as I walked in. Still no budge. I'll have to look at getting some. If it's a common fault, one can only hope replacement parts won't be too dear, or I'll have to look at second-hand ones.

When I bought my Zed, two green squares were not lit. I proceeded to a service and reset the lights myself using the 'wire in Pacman' method. No problem at all. Not sure why it wouldn't work with yours...

The answer is indeed fuse #23. Although it is only 5amp (so I'll need to change my 30amp piggyback), it indeed is only live when key is in the II position. Just as I was hoping. Oh, and my car does not have fuses #50-on.

As my fuse piggyback is mounted on a 30amp fuse, would F54 work as hoped? (Assuming I understand the charts). F54 is noted as 'air con & water pump'.Otherwise, if F23 was to work, I'd have to get a 5amp piggyback, wouldn't I?

...Hence my decision to not splice into headlight loom, and need for a switch: so that leds can be activated as and when is legal to do so. As it is set up now. The original purpose of this thread was to find an ignition-only fuse to make sure that leds could not be left on when keys out of ignition...

Now, that's a good idea, but I'm not sure it is bright enough to be seen from distance and angle required. Bearing in mind those are the brightest leds available, you hardly see them when in direct sunlight. It'd be really cool, though. I got the idea from a silver z3 with a single blue led per gill...

Just checked. 34 is indeed marked as 'optional extras', but is permanently live, I'm afraid... As a matter of fact, windows are #14, not 40 as previously thought. Any other suggestion?

If I remember correctly, once the scanner plugged in the engine-bay socket, I had to press 'reset' a few times, as if the fault had been logged in a few times, and every entry needed to be cleared.
