New exhaust needed. What's best?

The time has come to replace the exhaust back box on the zed (1998 1.9).
What's the best replacement in zedder's opinions?
Don't want boy racer noise but a nice burble would be nice!

Thanks for any advice.

The discs are not black just grooved in a Ship's propellor pattern if that makes sense. They have not rusted as yet. Thanks for tips on cooling system. I'll check back on it's full service history and check out invoices around the 60k mark. The only thing that's showing any signs of wear is the clut...

Indy replaced Standard discs with Brembo max grooved discs front and rear. Also new pads of course.
As discs were worn performance much better. Just have a slight squeak from rear offside from time to time. Will sort out when weather improves.

Thanks for re-assuring response. It all boils down to common sense and taking good care of the car. Although the miles are mounting up the car has been well looked after all it's life and has a full service history and all receipts from new to present day (original order, bill of sale etc. etc.). My much loved and pampered Z (1.9) has just clocked up 98000. It's been good company for the last 3 years and I don't intend to sell. Any info' on what's likely to need attention as the miles add up? Anything really expensive on the horizon that I'd be well advised to budget for. Thanks for any tips...

Just kidding.

Brake lights have failed but boot mounted brake light still works. I'm going to check the bulbs but strange if both have blown at once. Could it be the switch or a fuse? Is switch an easy fix?
Thanks for any advice.

It's not the miles that matter it's the overall feel and condition and the previous owners attitude to regular servicing . I'd rather have a well maintained and loved high miler than an under used example. In my experience cars sulk when they are not used and niggling little faults build up. Brakes,...

There is a useful buyers guide in the current issue of Classic and Sports Car. It's featured as a starter classic and covers most things. It doesn't have the inside knowledge of the forum but that's what z.com is for.
Check it out.

It's official-------Classic status

Classic and Sports Car is running a starter classic item on the Z3 in the December issue.
We all know Z's deserve Classic recognition. Nice to see it in print.
Maybe values will stabalize now or maybe there'll be a free one with next month's issue who knows.

Are the clips on the side of the seats available from BMW? Are they a self fit option? If trimmer needs to be involved would a second hand good set of seats be better cheaper option? Anyone got a pair of black seats with good unbroken tidies? FM that's a lot of questions for a Sunday. Nuffsed Rayboy
