You can either adjust the bonnet to raise the clearance which is a 2 person p i t a or remove wiper arm & bend to clear.

Headlight switch knob
Hi all, my headlight switch cover came off whilst travelling & decided to fit new knob & cover - following 'how to replace this switch' link , I cannot see the hex nut to undo it - the new knob has a metal insert which carries a thread & I'm wondering if my old one has been glued in posi...

Re: CD Player not working.
Hi Bob, extracting player from boot is fairly easy - if i remember right there are 3 bolts holding frame to the boot & then screws attaching player to frame - there are threads on this (use search) but when you have the cover off the gearwheels can be lightly oiled & eased into use - did min...

I have no experience of 2.8's but in general if you have any doubts about a car - unless you know exactly what needs fixing & how much that will be & that is reflected in the price - walk away - there are lots of examples out there so try a few more - if you walk away from a good one you'll ...

just to update my saga - I plugged the unit in but the discs would only go 3/4 way across & NO DISK showed. I added a few drops of light machine oil to cog wheels & the pin where the tray is pulled by - left it 1/2 hour & it started playing! Now I have to decide do I keep my present set ...

Just for anyone interested in removing a stuck disc - using the white cog wheels inside the unit - the vertical wheels shift the tray in & out - the bigger horizontal wheel raises the disc - just done it, now i have to re plug the changer & see if it operates normally?

Hi Mark I used some self tappers about 3/4" long 3/16" wide with big enough heads (about 5/16") Then I drilled a small hole (about 1/16") & tried to screw the bracket in place - can't remember exactly now but if its too tight try reaming it out a bit until you get a tight fit...

Re: Wind Deflector - Pre-facelift no roll hoops Fitting
Hi Z3 Mark - I fitted this type to my '97 - will look up any info I've got - basically once you have the curved trim with the seat belt towers off, place deflector in the brackets on the cross frame & mark the 2 or 3 holes, drill & screw them down - tricky part is marking the underside of th...

My 1.9 P Reg was very poor especially on uneven narrow country roads where I had to slow down to let oncoming traffic pass! In my imperfect understanding of the problem (after 5 months of mixed driving) there are about 4 or 5 joints/bearings & any looseness builds up in the system so changing on...
