What are you trying to achieve with the upgrade?

i have a lot plans...one is m engine 8-) because i want big brakes :D
i have a lot parts from stronger model(rear axle, drive shaft), coilovers..
next are brakes, than engine 8-)
Zedonist wrote:The 1.9 discs are smaller diameter and are not vented, so I guess a swap to e46 or z3 2.8 / 3.0 will give a larger rotor and vents that will improve braking, I am doing this in the new year, just got to source the calipers and discs for renovation, and fiment should be a straight swap and bleed of he system. A couple of members have already done this.
yes i know for that...

but in realoem z3 1.9(m43 118hp)
have differently front calipers(only  ),

because i think go on front 330i brakes 8-)

This is what I did, see towards the bottom of the thread....

Used 6 cylinder brakes (2.0/2.2/2.8) Had to change the carriers, discs and callipers.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

No problem, glad it is of use.

Re the head unit, It is a nice unit, and nice sound, but there are a few niggles, one is the lack of info on the screen,
you get about 8 characters on two lines to determine the track name, artist etc, and it isn't really enough, and scrolling takes ages - trying to read and drive? not the best.
Also slow to scroll through song titles, they start playing before the description comes up.
Oh and the sub pre-outs tend to make a droning noise on my sub, I had to use the high pass connection for my sub to get around this.
I have two of these units at present and they both show the same niggles.

I have upgraded to 300mm brakes on the front, from the standard 286mm found on the 6 cylinder models (see my journal).

I only had to change the carriers and discs, as the calipers are the same across the 6 cylinder models so they were already there on mine and pads are the same on both 4 and 6 cylinder models meaning you could use your current pads. Probably be worth changing the fluid whilst your doing the swap but it is fairly simple and a relatively cheap upgrade and definitely worth while.
