To scrap or not? Z3 2.0

Hi guys,
As you can see from the title I'm thinking about scrapping my Zed.
It's given me 20 years of making lifelong friends and memories and it all started on here but I have totally lost confidence in it with it cutting out randomly whilst driving and I haven't driven it in at least a year if not longer. It's so sad to see it SORN on my driveway getting covered in cobwebs.
I did think about putting it up on eBay but I don't think I could cope with the tyre kickers.
Is there much demand for a hardtop with fitting kit? I think I only ever had it on twice lol
Anyway, just curious on your thoughts about scrapping it?

Hi Bex,

Long time no hear!

Zeds are getting increasingly rare on the roads, so I'd hate to see you scrap yours. I wonder whether you might get some help in fixing the running problems at The Zed Shed in Burtonwood.

I remember the day we did the "multicolour hardtop swap shop". Hardtops are worth decent money, and an OEM fitting kit is worth £400-£500 on its own. If you don't use the hardtop, sell it with the fitting kit and use the money to fund fixing the car.

I'm with Robert, there is an ever decreasing number of these little cars on our roads it would be terribly sad to learn your beautiful (and rare) Mora had been scrapped

Leaving cars sitting is one of the worst things can happen. Lack of driving won't help the running but it sounds like a sensor issue - maybe crankshaft/ cam position . If you could even get it plugged in it might give you an idea of how much to put right.

Hardtops and fitting kits probably worth £1500 approx.

The Zed gave you so much fun and joy before it can always do so again. The cobwebs can be easily washed away.

Oh Rob and Conor
You've really made me think, but more than that you've put all those memories we've shared together over the years back in my head. Haven't we had some of the best times? As Alfie always said, driving the zed gives you DTS (Dry teeth syndrome)
Conor unfortunately every time we've had it plugged in it's come back with nothing. We took it to an independent a few years ago and they said they thought the ECU needed replacing but it was a grand plus for reconditioned and they couldn't confirm it would solve things.
I think the hardest thing is hearing the engine because it sounds amazing, but it's just so unpredictable cutting out.
On the plus side, reading your replies have made me smile and reminisce. Ahhh the fun and memories we've shared
