Learn To II

Post by RobBruce »

No, not learn tutu, but moving on from a couple of requests for another 'Learn How To Cruise' day.

Would anyone be interested in a second event? We could run another in a similar vein to the first for the new members, or deal with some specific points of driving such as overtaking - or a combination of both.

If anyone is interested or has any ideas, post up here and we'll try to sort something out.

We do need a few people to make this worthwhile, so don't be afraid - any questions just ask!

Rob

OK - this is starting to pick up now. Times and dates to be confirmed, but likely to be held in Huntingdon.

Interested so far:

Calbens
Titan (+Dot?)
Jonttt
AlexL
Gazzasi(+Sandra)
TrickyZ1
Tufarlian
Alfie (with the Horn?)

I'm certainly interested and would hope to persuade Dot to come along too.
Timing and venue will obviously be a major factor but should not be insurmountable (provided it's not the 'Ring :))

Only kidding! Put me down as a defo please :-)

And if anyone else is reading this thread and feeling to shy to join in then don't be,
you'll be amazed at how much you'll get out of the day and it will help stop you making silly mistakes when you go on your first proper cruise :D

I think I'm also going to limit the number of cars on this cruise. Otherwise we can't all get a dressing down from an angry, frightened rozzer.

Guys (and Gals) I would be interested in this but would depend on date. Would be good to get some others from "up north" to cruise down together :?:

OK, whoa, stop!

Because this cruise involves 1-1 assessment, we really can't have too many cars. We already have more interest than I'd planned to allow in total!

Let me pick a date and then we can see who can really make it. Depending on who makes the cut, we may allow more than 5 cars, but for now, the first 5 who can make it on the day are the ones who get in.

I need a refresher course, I remember the 'SBS' and 'OAP' but can't remember what they stand for  and I didn't get my evaluation from Rob. I do remember 'FMH' though

I would highly recommend this 'Course', you'll be surprised what you can learn, even for those that consider themselves experienced.

Edit

Just seen your post Spokey, I dont mind missing out on instrution but Sandra would be very keen.

I'd like to do this coz it doesn't matter how experienced you are, there's always something more to learn. :rtm:

But if there's a limit on numbers, then I guess there are others who need it more than me...!!! :geek:

I was going to retort with something on the lines of what I may be wearing on the day.

Say something on the lines of black 'stockings' and 'suspenders' with a very 'tight' fitting pencil skirt and '6 inch' stilettos'
teamed up with a very very 'low cut' blouse!!! Image

But I thought better of it, why should I resort to low down dirty tricks when these are highly intelligent men that would see right through such a trick!!! Image
*couldn't find a smiley bating it's eye lids so a mermaid will have to do

L22 - Update

Post by RobBruce »

Time and date confirmed:

Saturday 19th September - 0900hrs

This will be held in Huntingdon, at one of two schools, exact location to be confirmed shortly. Should finish around 4pm-5pm, with a 90min lunch break.

This will be a re-run of the original Learn To Cruise day, with extra focus on peoples' specific questions. Depending on the number of attendees, we should be able to manage a 20-30 min assessment each. (Trust me, this is MORE than enough ;) ) This is NOT a flat-out Spokemeister blast, it's a run paced to help you progress safely.

If you're new to the Zed scene, have had a bad experience on a run, or just want to discover a bit more about your car, this is the day for you! :drive

Places will be limited to ensure everyone gets a fair go. Get your names in quickly please. Any questions PM Spokey or me.

Confirmed so far:

Lynne
Titan (plus Dot, hopefully :) )
AlexL (weather permitting!)
