Two zeds and something special...!!!!

Post by komis »

Three spots in 15 minutes and I was on foot:

There's a new zed around old Glesga town- Red R-reg 1.9 with AC wheels, fat twin exhaust and 6-cyl. bumper looking GOOD, who are you mate?

Second Zed spotted parked outside Campus on Sauchiehall, lovely black facelift with private plate and debadged... how DO you keep it so clean?

And finally... something special... saw my very first real-life McMerc SLR, getting off the motorway at Charing Cross. All I can say is... WOW... I thought these things were just urban legends!!!!

real-life McMerc SLR. Never seen one of these before in the flesh.
BMW Z3, the only way to build a true roadster

Quite an impressive car the SLR. I had a go in a prototype 18months ago, had a roll cage and full harnesses and was held together with insulating tape. More impressive than the acceleration were the brakes, never stopped so fast in my life, nor had so many photos taken. Someone in a Seat wanted to race off the lights, I obliged of course.

Unfortunately only had a crap camera phone on me at the time

There was one at the Brighton Speed Trials last year, didn't look very quick compared to some of the other things going down the strip

There's actually a McMerc SLR in the window of Dunhill on Jermyn Street in the west end in London. Automotive porn.

Buzz.
