Sick M diagnosed- costly!

Post by d0mokun »

Hi chaps,

Yesterday I had my M diagnosed by a BMW dealer in order to work out why the car is unhappy- it often goes into limp mode, often throws the ECU/ emissions/ traction light, and often runs a little rough.

Turns out that a new manifold potentiometer is required, along with a significant amount of labour time (and cost) to get it installed. Bad karma, man.

Is this a common fault or have I just drawn the short straw?

Best
Dan.

sorry to hear that mate. shouldnt be that expensive if you take it to a good independant mechanic and try and source the part from a written off M, according to the statistics there are quite a few of them :? I havent heard your problem that much happening to the M so must be bad luck.
