Looks lovely - very clean with some nice touches like the M mirrors! What's it lowered on?

Thanks Mark - it's sitting on Eibach springs with Spax shock absorbers.

.......... are those genuine ACS wheels or the repro's ? Looking at them I was wondering because the valve isn't incorporated into the ring of wheel bolts on the rim ??

Hi, original wheels are 17s but I plan to keep them for winter - don't fancy an Autosol fest every weekend!

Hi, they're definitely real according to the inside of the castings. I can't say I've noticed different valve positioning. I'll have to have a look at some images to see if there are any differences.

They're definitely genuine guys... But they're Type I not Type II

Extend each of the wires on the OBC loom, route them alongside the gear lever, cut a hole in the oddments tray and connect. Simples

Looks great very close to the things we did to ours, wheels look spot on. Insides should be like these
Image
Same wheels with gunmetal centres. The wheels are type 2 racing see here http://www.ac-schnitzer.de/en/bmw-cars/ ... 02/wheels/
Image
Still would like M seats we just have the black and red sports ones.

...well they would do if they were Type II but because they're Type I the insides look like this:

If you look closely you'll notice that Type I wheels have raised front face rim bolts whereas the Type II bolts are recessed.

btw, if it wasn't obvious, this is my old car hence why I have the pics & specs

Cheers Captain - all the credit goes to Ian_C, all I've done is serviced and maintained it other than adding new exhaust trims! :D

A bit off topic but had an opportunity to tickle my other mistress yesterday so here she is while the Z is warm and cosy in the garage. Different to the Z in many ways but lacks the feel good factor on sunny days!

Z can just be seen in it's 'bedroom!'

Re taxed and insured this month for another years fun! Also cleaned all the polished rims on the AC Schnitzer wheels to remove the coating of WD 40 I put on for winter. After a good clean with Iron X, Bilberry wheel cleaner and then Autosol they look 'summer ready'

Cheers Ian - easy to keep it good now it's a garage Queen! I've only done about 2300 miles in nearly 2 years; mainly because it's always raining in Lancashire

Hi all - just thought I'd do my yearly report in and let you know the Z is in rude health and still being enjoyed. Only managed 807 miles between MOTs as it was sharing my weekends with a 996 Carrera 4. Testament to the Z, I kept it in preference to the 911 as it is a special little thing. To keep to the red theme I have bought a Melbourne Red E92 M3 to keep it company.

I'll put up some pictures of them together when the M3 arrives. Cheers.

Hi all - Quick update as I've been off radar working in the Middle East on and off since late 2016. The Z is still doing well and now done 4500 miles in the 4 and a half year's I've had it.

No major news and the only 'mods' I've done in the intervening period has been to fit Nick Alaith clear protection film to the rear quarters and front to preserve the paint from stone chips. I can highly recommend the quality of these and ease of fitting.

Only other thing on the cards is going in for an Inspection II this week to keep it in full health.

Happy 'Zeding' - Dave

Hi everyone!

Been very quiet for a while as I’ve been working in the Middle East since September 2018. The trusty Z is in great health still though I have to shamefully admit that it only did 68 miles in the last 18 months with me being ‘locked’ in the Middle East.

Not much to report other than I’ve woken it from 18 months slumber and if it stops raining will get some miles under it.

Stay safe!
