Z1 Gelb/yellow leather dye or reviver

Hi all,

I have a gelb/yellow leather interior. The leather has become a little tired.
I have materials for reviving the leather, but could really do with some colour dye for it.

Does anyone know a good source for this at all? I have struggling...

Hi,

Not aware of any UK Z1 leather experts. Suggest you try Christine (Chrissy) Wahl whose website is "leder-pflege.de". She is in Germany, obviously, but has been great in advising and supplying treatment products to several of the UK contingent, on this website, for some time.
She is a leather specialist and expert in Z1 treatments.
Highly recommend and excellent service and advice.

It locks like they supply Colourlock. Interestingly if you go to Colourlock's site then trying to pick out the colouring is not simple on the listed items (the green for the green/gelb combo is not really there) and the pricing for two colours plus shipping is almost the same despite euro conversion and shipping from Germany.

I bought a BMW light grey recolour kit from Chrissy several years ago, as Pat said excellent service.

The product is actually made by Colour Lock who sell kits in BMW specific colours. See attached charts and info.

You will need to follow the preparation instructions in terms of sanding down the leather, filling any cracks or holes, cleaning etc before adding the colour coats. I used an airbrush while the seats were apart, very thin coats immediately dried with a hair dryer to prevent runs as the dye is a vey thin water based liquid. Make sure the seat material is masked with plastic. I needed approx 6 coats. Leave the dye for 24 hours before applying several coats of the supplied sealant.

An alternative is to contact your local Furniture Clinic franchise. They are able to colour match against a sample, however, the problem can be fading of the leather which is a problem for a single panel repair. The light grey and yellow tend to suffer less from this problem.
