Undertray fixings

Post by TJS »

I can't track down a part number for the coarse threaded brass chassis inserts for the rear undertray torx fixings (item 12 in the link). The usual problem; the insets unscrew and wear rather than the torx stud. Do I need to track down similar size generic M6 rivnuts ? If so recommendations welcome !

Alternatively not sure if the "M8 blind rivet nut flat headed" part no 41132291403 and hex bolt with washer (07119915082) used to attach the floor to the chassis will work. (Items 5 & 12)

Hi Tj,

You are close.. the part is listed on the diagram number 11.

There are 2 sizes
41122292143 uses 4 on the car and is used to hold the handbrake onto the floor.
41622290686 Receives the bolts that hold the undertrays and sill panels on.

Regards,

Ivor

Many thanks Ivor,

A set of the correct sized "threaded plugs" have been ordered from BMW Germany @ £7.50. The respective Torx screws are no longer available from BMW but generic stainless studs and washers are widely available.

Cheers
