How late do you keep your top down............
How late do you keep your top down............
......before you think 'I either look flash or silly now?'
Couldn't help but feel like a Pimp as I cruised through town at 9pm the other night but it was so much better than squinting through the midday sun!
So what time do you button up?

Night driving with the roof is a laugh!!! You can enjoy looking at the stars, low hanging clouds - and the silence is great due to less traffic.
I've been laughed at by friends (that don't have a convertible), but actually I get to have the last laugh by driving open.
Try it - you'll love it

I've driven both of mine at night with the roof down - it's a lovely feeling. The zed has a good heater if it gets cold, and for the frog I have a good leather jacket.
I overheard someone say "oooh, look at that!" when I drove past them in the zed on the way back from a concert one night - 10pm and a lovely warm evening - country lanes all the way home.
Cheers R.

I've had worse than "oooh, look at that!" when I drive with the roof down at night in the winter, I wouldn't dare put it on this forum thoughRobert T wrote:I've driven both of mine at night with the roof down - it's a lovely feeling. Our top down state is based on 365 24/7. only rain (and snow) stops play.
The feeling you get from driving after sunset, can be really exhilerating, with a freedom that can only come from open top motoring in the Zed under the stars.

A wise man once said "There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing," he also said "If it's raining, wear a f*cking raincoat!" Actually he can't be all that wise since he races motorbikes for a living, but i know where he's coming from. Put the top down as and when you feel the need and "dress" for the conditions. With a ragtop i reckon that means top down at any time you feel appropriate and you will only look silly if it's absolutely peeing it down. My opinion only.

Been keeping mine in the garage with the hood down and in the tonneau, fitted new stereo tonight, and thought I would go for a blast and listen to some tunes, it was 19:15...............pulled up at the end of my road and some bint shouted "dont you think its too cold for that!"
Think she's still choking on the exhaust gases!!!!
But in all reality never to cold or late in the year, think the only constraint is a warm rear window before folding.......oh and a woolley hat

As a founder member of the HCHDC*, I put the roof up when it's snowing or when it's raining so hard that going faster doesn't help.

do you actually like driving at all or are cars to you just a manifestation of some sort of pathological mother complex ?
