CD Player not working.

CD player not working, can't get cassette to come out but radio
works OK. When CD mode is selected i get "CD Error"
Does CD have a seperate fuse or is it run from radio.
How do you remove player from boot.
I only collected car yesterday, previous owner told me it worked intermitantly but
seems completely dead now.

Hi Bob, extracting player from boot is fairly easy - if i remember right there are 3 bolts holding frame to the boot & then screws attaching player to frame - there are threads on this (use search) but when you have the cover off the gearwheels can be lightly oiled & eased into use - did mine recently & its been good since - no doubt someone will advise you to go mp3/4/5 route but the old bits can function again (your choice).

Seem to remember a thread suggesting using a credit card or knife to slide under CD cartridge which releases it if stuck. As you say though easy to remove

Can't see bolts as hidden behind carpet wasn't sure if carpet needed removing, anyway
all is now fine as i found a post to try ejecting cassette with credit card & it worked.
All working now & i get 6 free CD's as previous owner couldn't fix.
Perhaps i need to lubricate something.
