GPS speedo signal
GPS speedo signal
I'm about to try and fit a Blaupunkt Rome stereo/satnav to my 2000 Z3. It needs a 'speedo signal' has anyone done this before as I'm not sure of the best way to get this. I was wondering if there is a redundant loom for cruise control where I could find a speed signal. Any ideas please?
Re: GPS speedo signal
A speed signal comes from the speed sensor on the diff and goes into the back of the instrument cluster.

I've used the 1999 version of the wiring diagram because your profile doesn't show the production year.

Re: GPS speedo signal
Thanks for that. My production date is Nov 1999, don't know how much the wiring may have changed, probably not much.
Re: GPS speedo signal
I used some wire near steering wheel rack, probably it was white/black (not sure about the color now), but it worked well. I think it was from speedo or onboard computer. If you don't have onboard computer, you should have the wiring for it anyway.
