Clunk click every trip

Post by Flight »

Hi all.
Sorry to raise the old chestnut of rear end clunks when gear changing, but I recently caught site of a article, in which the diff input shaft was removed, and a heavy grease was applied to the cavity. The writer insisted this was a sure fire way of curing the annoying clunk when changing. Has anyone tried this, what was the result, and indeed what is the theory behind it?

Have you changed your old OE slave cylinder rubber hose?

Got rid of my gear change clunk by fitting a UUC stainless steel braided hose to the slave cylinder.
