Angel eyes

Post by Fender2004 »

I was just wondering did the Z3 come with angel eyes when new?

Or is this just an add on modification?

I asked in my local dealership and was told that the car never came with angel eyes.

No, no angels. They are all aftermarket on the Z3.

"Halo headlights were originally designed and first used by BMW on the 2001 5-Series"

I would say they are not period correct for z3.

You can either buy the full aftermarket units (see my 2.0l thread below for what they look like) or you can buy aftermarket angel eye lights and then fit them to your existing lights (see G8JKA threads for the write up).... if your lights have yellow indicators you can also use the time to get clear lenses from southernboy to really modernise the look.

AFAIK Southernboy is not selling clear lenses anymore. I haven't seen aftermarket angel eye lights which would fit properly and look like from factory yet (apart from the ones in aftermarket units). And I had seen them all.

Aftermarket Angel Eyes are specific for the Z3 as the AE's would need to be different diameters.
