Battery Drain and Fuse 31 ?

Post by henrycrun »

Z not used over Christmas, so no surprises with a discharged battery.
However I was not expecting a 230mA current drain !

Looked at the usual suspects, boot loom wiring, boot light bulb, pulled fuses for seat motors with no success but -
Removing fuse31 current drain dropped to 2mA

So can I remove fuse 31 permanently and start & drive without causing problems ?
(I'm not fussed about a non working alarm or even electric door locking)

Thanks in advance

See p. 20

According to this, Fuse 31 is for the starter as well as the "Body Control Electrics" and several other things. You will need to check the individual pages referred to in the table.

Thanks for that. Fuse31 also has the immobiliser so I'd better leave it in place and look for the component fault

I don't seem to have an alarm siren in the engine bay, anywhere else to look - were all pre facelift (1.9s) fitted with one ?
When the car is in distress I just get a sad 'chirp' not exactly loud.

I have the same issue. Did you ever get to the bottom of this?
