Well I’m happy to report so far no water ingress after two reasonable rain falls.

I priced the foam seals, £25 each. I’m guessing that when I had the rear bumper carrier repaired and painted that the over compressed seals weren’t replaced by the repairer. Poor show. Anyway hopefully it will be ok for some time.
