Touch up paint

Post by Richieroo »

Hi I've got a 1997 2.8 in Atlanta blue. I bought what I thought was OEM touch up paint, but it appears to be a much darker colour than my existing paintwork. Are there different shadings or have I done something wrong? If anyone could point me to a reliable product or supplier (both touch up and aerosol if poss) I'd be grateful.

Thanks

Have you tried having it made at Halfords?

I use the local car paint supplier, they can match the colour from a sample and supply spray cans at about £12 each.

If you find a local automotive paint supplier and take the car too them, they should be able to either go off the paint reference or use a colour spectrometer to 'read' the paint on a flat panel on the car and then mix from that.

No need to take the car, just take your fuel filler flap.
