When i had my z3 MOT’d, the tester pointed out that the offside front wheel has very little clearance between the tyre and the suspension strut. There is only about 1/2 inch between the tyre and the part of the strut that supports the bottom of the spring. On the nearside there is a much wider gap.
The car drives fine and the tyre has never touched the strut. Both front struts were replaced last year and fitted with Monroe E7039R and E7038L, which i believe are correct for my 2.2 litre Z3 MSport.
Is this normal?
Thanks
Suspension clearance
Re: Suspension clearance
Check your details are correct.
According to https://www.autodoc.co.uk/monroe/7436549, the correct shocks should be E7038R & E7039L, not E7039R & E7038L.

Re: Suspension clearance
Cheers Pingu, i’ll double check the part numbers on the actual shocks tonight. I’ve only done a couple of thousand mostly dry miles so hopefully the stickers will still be in place

Re: Suspension clearance
Finally got round to checking the part numbers. I’ve got E7038R and E7039L so it looks like the right parts. Still no idea why the clearance is so tight on the offside?
