Have replaced these before on my wife’s 2.8 and my lads 3.0 Z4 but have an access problem with the driver’s side. Normally I’ve been able to loosen the middle ball joints nut with a socket on a long extension from the engine bay, the lovely designers at BMW decided to put the cats in the exhaust down pipes directly above the nut so making removal tricky.
Have done the near side no problem but was losing the light and too cold to today to get into the offside then be stuck without the correct tools needed to finish the job!
Anyone done this on a 3.0 and have a tip for removing the nut from the balljoint? Thanks in advance Peter
