Camshaft position sensor/engine type

Post by domross »

This is probably simple stuff but….
Difficulty in starting especially when hot together with occasional and indiscriminate drops in revs lead me to believe the cam shaft sensor and exhaust sensor (depending on engine type) are up the swanny…couple of basic questions though
1. My Zed is unhelpfully Oct 98 build, I know the 2.8 engine was changed from M52 to M52TU about this time…how do I tell which is in my car??
2. Although there’s a really nice write-up here, the pics are in close-up of the areas where the sensors are, is anyone aware of a good (idiot-proof) write-up showing the general area of the engine where the sensor(s) are located (ie drivers side just behind the dip-stick type thing)…

Many thanks
