Scuttle Panel

Post by traindriver »

Hi everyone, I have carpets that are wet which i have traced back to the drains underneath the scuttle panel being blocked. Rather than remove the scuttle panel the two drain holes could they be enlarged to take a wire coat hanger to free off debris blocking the drain, or otherwise from underneath if you can access them.?

If they are anything like the other drains on the car, then they are soft flexible tubes and a coat hanger would destroy them. I would try some insulated electrical wire if you have some.

Also, you are sure that it is rainwater and not coolant, as the heater matrix can leak there.

Cheers R.

Mine is 1.9 , a member on z roadster said you can access them on a 4 cylinder without dismantling, tried and it works, top tip.
