Anyone Seen Anything Like This Before?

New Z3 owner here ('97 with 79,000 miles on it) from the US.
I've had this up on the US forum with no luck.
I went to get an alignment done and the shop called and said the rear end had been "worked on" in a very NOT good way.
Anyone seen anything like this before?
My plan is to remove the two shim/washer plates and replace the drilled out subframe push rod mount to return things to stock and take it from there.
Hoping - fingers crossed - that the new push rod mount will line up correctly and bolt back in place where it should be.
Depending on what the alignment looks like after that I may go with the Ireland Engineering kit.
Thoughts are appreciated.
