Hi and welcome,

Very sorry to see pictures of your stolen recovered CRX on the Showoffs website.

Really like your choice of Z3 (well it's similar to mine :D)

Would you put the recovered Subaru spoiler on the Zeds rear end? Naaaaaw!

Nick.

Hi Foxy

Welcome to the forums!

Good choice of car! Montreal blue and tan is a very classy combination! (...not that I'm biased or anything!) :D

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Yeah my poor del sol - was a shame to see it in a state, but i think ive definitely made the right decision.

Not gonna modify the Z too much, just a few chrome bits here and there cos i think that will make it look really classy. Have ordered some new alloys too, not really keen on the ones thats on there.

So if anyone wants my old ones they are on ebay :)

I've got a few copies of the last calender I had shot, the first 5000 went in an hour on e-bay but I managed to keep a few behind for friends and fans. I can let you have one for £50. Just PM me and I'll tell you where to send the cheque.

Welcome to Z ownership, foxy! I hope your car will bring you loads of pleasure!

Would you be interested on coming on a cruise some time? You will doubtlessly hear a lot of c**p about the handling of a Z3, and I always like to encourage new owners to come and find out what their car can actually do.

Cruises are generally advertised on this part of the forum

My next one was scheduled to be a midnight cruise, but I think I might swap that out for a re-run of the Rutland Rollercoaster.

Yes, I certainly will!

Clear side indicators
Sun strip and "show offs" sticker

And before anyone says it - yes it is being lowered, the springs should be here tomorrow! :)

I think a hard top would look lovely - just a matter of finding one at the right price - but as you say - defo not in chrome. Think i have enough now.

Am having some new rear lights at the end of the month in red/clear and once its lowered that will be it for exterior mods.

Gonna start on the engine then - so if anyone has any ideas ie what induction kit etc - please let me know

Nice car, bit to much chrome for me though.
I think you need to change all the indicators otherwise you may have an MOT failure on your hands.

What do you mean by changing the indicators?? they are legal - they flash orange!!

Anyway, like i said earlier, i have finished with the bodywork, i just wanted some chrome bits on the outside to make it look a bit different. Ive never been one for keeping a car as standard - its just my own personal preference. Each to their own.

Yup, not my cup of tea, but why should it be? Only one thing offends me though, and it starts with lexus and ends in lights.

:D It would probably drive like one too with just the front lowered, come to think of it mine did untill it was sorted. Foxy if you take a look at my web site you might notice some similaritys between my previous 1.9 and yours.

By the way i do still have the K&N cone filter, which is not being used and just stitting on a shelf in my garage. It certainly makes the poor 4 pot sound a lot better even if it does not really add to the performance.

Its being lowered as we speak, and must admit its looking really nice, not OTT, just neat.

No dont worry guys - there aint gonna be no spoiler going anywhere near my Z thats for sure - ive seen the pictures

Will post up the lowered pictures later on when its all finished.

Got a couple of good shots of just the back done - looks like a dragster!!

Just had a look at your website - very informative, got some good tips off there - thank you.

K&N seems easy to fit - was a bit worried about the fitment. Are you getting rid of yours? If so let me know as id certainly take it off your hands :)

Foxy looks a bit fishy to me, either that picture is a weird angle or that has caused a lot of negative camber on the rear. Expect to knock tyres out fairly quick.

Its ok, Neil (who is doing the work for me) was sat in the car at the time with the handbrake off and the brakes on - making it look like that.

It doesnt sit like that normally 8-) Just thought it was a funny looking picture for you all.

Well its all finished - lowered 45mm all round.

The handling has changed a lot, seems to stick to the road like glue now - so it cant be all bad!

Blimey, much lower isnt it! What springs are they and what's the quoted drop figure in mm?

Do you feel the standard dampers can hack being lowered that much?

They are Jamex springs imported from Germany. Quoted figure is a 40mm drop, but its more like 45mm to be truthful.

It looks low but it isnt really, i think if you get up to 50/60mm then you need to get shorter shocks etc.

My del sol was 100mm drop all round and that was scraping on the bushes! - now that was low!

Hope you are going to treat Neil to a new tool box now he has done that work for you. Judging by the pictures he could certainly do with one. Also look out for speed humps, exhausts don't come cheap.

Poor love was using my tool kit!!

Took him out for a night out last night - but unfortunately Birmingham was evacuated due to four controlled bomb explosions in the City Centre - we got caught up in the middle of it! Oh well.

And as for my Insurance? Its now £1,038 fully comp!! Thats cos of speeding, previous claim, no air bag, chrome alloys and lowered!

Cant complain really, for my del sol third party was £890.
