Finally seen a friendly fellow Zed owner in Essex, used a quarter of a tank of fuel to catch up though

Some ones over here just plain ignore you or look at you as if you have 3 heads when you wave or flash your headlamps. :head:

Oh well, as long as we continue making the effort ...

Morning all, - Alex - it was me on the A130 / 131 - just moved in to a place in Braintree - so was heading home after a night at a friends in Surrey. Was good to have an impromptu cruise on a Sun afternoon although I suspect that my other half - Nicole, following us in the Focus CMax kind of spoiled the image (because of the Focus obviously !)
Having never been out in an M Roadster, I had no idea quite how much more powerful they are than the 2.8, but I simply could not keep up as you pulled away !

I think you have hit the nail on the head, there are some BMW drivers out there that are stuck so far up their own passage, if you flash / wave / thumbs up and they dont respond i just want curl up.

Snap!

Post by Step »

A z3 driver in Norwich parked their silver 1.9 next to mine at Christmas time. I got back to my car to find a note on the window screen...i feared the worst but it just said SNAP! MERRY XMAS! I thought it was a nice touch and cheered me up!

More people than I thought, rarely see Z3s now and when you own one you tend to look out for them. Tend to see them during the week when I am in my company car as my ///M only comes out on dry weekends.

Is there an Essex region meeting?

Am still a member of the Westfield owners club but don't think they'd appreciate me turning up now.

LP,

Thought the focus was following me for some road rage as the headlights were on. Your 2.8 looked good especially with the hardtop, would like one of those but as I rarely use the car I take the hood off at every opportunity.

///M power also surprised a guy in a left hooker ferrari 355 on the same road last weekend, problem is before you know it you are rather in excess of the speed limit.

Whats is more worrying is that my other half managed to keep up in the focus, and it is a diesel ! - I thought that I had left her miles behind.

She has an MGF VVTi, so the only arguments are when we both need to use the 'sensible' car.

The B1053 from Braintree to Shalford and around there isn't bad.

Otherwise the old B184 from Dunmow through Thaxted and Saffron Walden is ok too, a couple of the routes I do.

Personal favourite is the Essex Regiment Way, only because it is pretty straight for a few miles with a couple of roundabouts thrown in for some sideways fun

Not yet! Looks like we'll have to arrange an Essex-based cruise in the near future.

Anyone got good suggestions for some driving roads in the Essex area?

Thanks Rob, I generally take it relatively easy along there and recce first just in case there are any traffic police sitting by the side of the road.

I did notice that the police helicopter was hovering overhead yesterday so detoured.

I'd be up for an Essex cruise with a stop for lunch or something. Perhaps something to think about if the weather is going to stay like it is at the moment

Found the B184 the other day. Mmmm nice 8-)

Watch yourself on ERW though. I've seen some REALLY bad driving on that, and it's also the route that a lot of the Essex TrafPol use to get to the new A120................
