Dieter - absolutely stunning car...and almost perfect driveway - one Z8 for the winter, one for the summer, Aston for opera nights, only the X3...do swap that for the new X5...
Thanks for sharing. It is good to see, that some of these cars are actually put on the road and driven as they were suppose to be driven...
Take good care of the ultimate Z...
Respect. 8-)

Austin, thanks for your nice words.

I really love the Z8, it's a fabulous car - if you like this kind of a car.

The X3 is indeed up for discussion, we're going to look at the new X5 soon.
Cheers, Dieter

Hi Paula,

I'd love to. I can't commit at this point in time because I can't foresee business travel for so long.
But I have it on my calendar.

I am not quite sure Dieter .... it varies but if you are there with your Z8 it will probably be twice as many as there would have been :D :D :D

no, he was German.

Unfortunately, he kept driving middle of the road most of the time, and since this was not a race I preferred to stay on the safe side.
I think I gave him quite clear signals that both I wanted to drive faster, and that I could. After I passed him on the final straight he didn't show any interest in further conversations with me though.
Cheers, Dieter

Great idea!

As I said before, I have to watch may business travel before I can commit. I'd love to go there.

Is this yours, or did you take the photos only?

Hi Dieter, lets try for Gaydon and yes, I bought it to keep my Z1 company. Only 8 originally imported into UK by Synter of which 3 were in Alpina Blue. This is the actual car that Clarkson was so kind to on Top Gear !!

I'm afraid it's incorrect. The car was officially called Alpina Roadster V8, not Z8.

Yes that's correct but felt I was unlikely to get away with putting "Alpina Roadster V8" onto the number plate here in the UK !!

accepted!

although I am not quite sure about the car's denomination in the US, because there it was sold by BMW, not by Alpina. The official manufacturer was also BMW. So maybe they were called Z8 there.

A great companion to your Z1 for sure.

The 450 sold in the States were all marketed as "BMW Alpina Roadster V8"as they were here.

Interesting, I didn't know that BMW sold the Alpinas in the UK as well.

So it's not a long trip for you to Gaydon I guess. Let's hope the best.

Are you on Andrew's board as well? Club member?
