SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...AVAILABLE
Coming soon for those who didn't get it the first time round...and for those who would like the "upgrade" version...
The issue of hex drive head screws has been resolved too and all these will come with the screws as in the pic provided....The hex drive requires a 1/16th tool to fit the drive.
Fitting will be the same.....
For those who want the polished aluminium set, the "roadster" engraving will be in black against the silver metal with silver headed screws...(no image available yet)

You've clearly put a lot of time and thought into this, and I think the results look great.
How and when will the finished products be available?

Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
I haven't got a final price yet...I'm waiting on the engraver to get back to me next week, then I'll be able to work out a total cost including postage. I've tried to source people who will a). take on a small quantity project and b). do their part at a really affordable price. The anodising was a big issue...most platers will only consider huge numbers, but I managed to find a guy who anodises the tailfins for mortar bombs and rockets for the military here, who agreed to toss my parts into the same batch as the military stuff...and at a really good price compared to the other options I looked at...it really is an amazing journey when making contact with people who do the most unexpected things as part of their bussinesses...also, one learns about the processes involved and the possibilities they provide. I really enjoy the hunt...must have something to do with my upbringing in Africa...
Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
Great, look forward to next week's update.
Couldn't have come at a better time for me, as the Yella Fella is now sporting 1 broken and 1 cracking belt guide.

Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
They look fab, well done on the initiative. I would be very interested if you decide to go ahead with these as a preventative and to stop the pain of the seat belt slipping out as it does with mine as I have the BMW seat covers fitted.

I am making up sufficient for 18 cars...36 pieces. I will only do 5 sets in silver (polished ally) as most people prefer black.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
I'm waiting on the engraver's bill to find out how much she will eventually charge for these...I'm hoping it'll be as reasonable as she initially indicated.
Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
I wouldn't mind a set in black myself

Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
....Tim, the engraving is a chemical process whilst lazer engraving....it's currently still in the black or white stage of tech...like the 50's and television....so, silver on black isn't an option right now...
On the plus side, the pic above shows the engraving, the word "roadster" is about 23mm left to right, and the letter height is only about 3mm...so it's exceptionally clear, but extremely small..the white will be almost silver against the black bracket.

What happens when you need to fit a seat cover? As you need to release the belt from the guide?

Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
Hi Sapper...it is perfect for already broken guides...once fitted, it is stronger than an unbroken guide, and will prevent any movement of the broken part...you will need to line up the broken one when fitting it, and as I said, once fitted, you can test it's solidity...it doesn't move at all!!

Re: SEATBELT GUIDE MOD...MUST SEE !
Hello I'm a new boy to the club-only had my Z3 for 3 weeks. One of the very few problems I have found so far is that of the broken seat belt guide (both sides).you seem to have produced a very decent fix. I would like to purchase a set from you. How do I do this?
